Strikingly Free Plan Review (2026): Five Pages, Two Kinds of Branding

Is Strikingly free? Yes, with no end date listed: the free plan publishes as many sites as you like, each up to five pages, with 500 MB of storage and 5 GB of bandwidth a month, and it can even sell one product at a 5% fee. What it charges instead is your name. Every free site wears a Strikingly logo in its footer and gets "on Strikingly" added to its title in search results and browser tabs.

That makes it a good free plan for something short-lived, such as an event page, a class project or a test of an idea, and a poor one for a business that wants to appear in Google under its own name. Everything below comes from Strikingly's US pricing page and its help centre, read on 10 October 2026.

What you get for $0

On the pricing page, the free column reads: unlimited free sites, 500 MB of storage for each, a 5 GB monthly bandwidth allowance, and one product for sale with a 5% transaction fee. Its FAQ adds that a custom domain "is a feature in paid plans", so a free site lives on a Strikingly subdomain. The page doesn't print a page limit for free; the help centre does, in its article on multi-page sites, last updated on 1 August 2026: "Our Free and Limited plan users can add up to 5 pages, while our Pro and VIP plan users can take advantage of up to 100 pages."

Strikingly also defines exactly what counts as a free site. According to its help article on unlimited free websites, a free site has no domain or subdomain connected, carries Strikingly branding in its footer, shows "on Strikingly" with the site title, and doesn't use the Media Slider section, premium apps, HTML embeds, password protection or custom CSS. That definition applies whatever plan the account is on, which is why even paying customers can publish unlimited free sites alongside their paid ones.

Checklist grid of Strikingly plans: Free has no custom domain, keeps the footer, 5 pages, 500 MB and 1 product; Limited adds a domain but keeps the footer, 1 GB; Pro removes the footer with 100 pages, 20 GB and 300 products for $16 a month yearly; VIP is $49 a month yearly with 100 GB and no product cap.

Two kinds of branding on every free site

The footer credit is the familiar one. Strikingly's help centre says removing the "Powered by Strikingly" footer is a Pro feature that is "currently not available for Free and Limited accounts", and on Pro it is a checkbox under Settings > Header & Footer.

The title suffix matters more. In Strikingly's own example, a free site's title appears as "Your Website Name on Strikingly" in search results and on the browser tab. For a hobby page that's harmless. For a business it means every search result for your own name also names your website builder, and the free plan offers no switch to remove it. If being found by name is the reason you want a site, that one line is the strongest argument against this free tier.

Strikingly has a plan between Free and Pro called Limited, and its help article describes it plainly. Limited lets you publish two sites with your own custom domain and use the free apps from the App Store. It does not let you add the Slider section, mobile actions or HTML code, add password protection, or remove the Strikingly branding at the bottom of the page. Storage rises to 1 GB per site, and the page limit stays at five.

Strikingly's US pricing page, read on 10 October 2026, lists only Free, Pro and VIP, so we can't quote a current Limited price, and you should check what your account is offered at checkout. Whatever it costs, it buys a domain rather than an unbranded site. Anyone upgrading to get rid of the footer has to go to Pro.

Strikingly Pro: what removing the branding costs

Pro is $16 a month billed yearly, which is $192 for the year. It removes the branding, allows three Pro sites of up to 100 pages each, raises storage to 20 GB per site with unlimited bandwidth, and lets you sell up to 300 products at a 2% fee. VIP is $49 a month billed yearly, $588 a year, for five sites, 100 GB of storage per site, unlimited products and no transaction fee. The pricing page shows yearly billing only, and its FAQ says you can move from monthly to yearly billing but not back. If Pro's limits fit what you're building, start on Strikingly's free plan and upgrade the site that earns it.

Two terms in the help centre deserve a look before you pay. Yearly plans, including multi-year ones, come with one free custom domain for the first year, which Strikingly values at $24.95; after that the domain renews at US$24.95 or more a year, depending on the extension, and a domain you register while on the free plan is charged. And on refunds the help centre is short: "Sadly, we don't process refunds." Cancelling returns your sites to the free plan's features at the end of the billing period.

How it compares with other free tiers

Against the rest of our ranking of free website builders, Strikingly's free plan is generous on quantity and expensive on identity. Carrd's free tier is smaller, three one-page sites, but Carrd's Pro Standard plan connects your own domain to a one-page site, unbranded, for $19 a year. Framer's free plan carries a badge too, but paying $10 a month for Framer's Basic plan, yearly billing selected, gets your domain connected. Google Sites shows no ads and connects a domain at no charge, as our Google Sites review explains. If branding is what bothers you most, our list of free website builders without ads sorts the field on exactly that.

Edge cases: selling, downgrading and closing an account

Selling on free is real but tight: one product per site, with Strikingly taking 5% of each sale. If you downgrade from a paid plan, the help centre says premium features are stripped from your sites but you keep editor access, and your free sites stay published. Pro's three-site allowance counts Pro sites only, so extra free sites don't use it up. Finally, if you want to close the account altogether, Strikingly says it can delete free accounts with zero sites, so cancel any plan and delete your sites first.

Questions readers ask

Is Strikingly free?

Yes. Strikingly's free plan lists no end date. You can publish any number of free sites on a Strikingly subdomain, five pages apiece, but every free site shows Strikingly branding in the footer and in its title.

How many pages can a free Strikingly site have?

Up to five. Strikingly's help centre says Free and Limited users can add up to 5 pages per site, while Pro and VIP users can add up to 100.

Can I sell on Strikingly's free plan?

Yes, one product per site, with a 5% transaction fee according to the US pricing page. Pro raises that to 300 products at a 2% fee, and VIP removes both the product cap and the fee.

Can I use a custom domain on Strikingly for free?

No. Strikingly's FAQ says custom domains are a paid feature. The Limited plan connects a domain but keeps the branding; Pro, at $16 a month billed yearly, connects a domain and removes it.

Does the Strikingly free plan expire?

No expiry is listed. Strikingly says you can create and publish unlimited free sites whatever plan you are on, and the pricing page presents the free plan as a way to start building with no end date.
